LK Metrology, a global manufacturer and supplier of coordinate measuring machines (CMMs) and laser scanning sensors, has announced its acquisition of ProCon X-Ray GmbH, a German manufacturer of computed tomography (CT) systems. This strategic move expands LK Metrology’s range of high-precision inspection solutions to include industrial CT imaging, reinforcing its position as a provider of metrology systems.
ProCon X-Ray GmbH, founded in 2003 and based in Sarstedt, Germany, specializes in developing and manufacturing modular CT and X-ray inspection equipment for industrial and scientific applications. Their systems are recognized for their high-resolution focus X-ray technology and customizable hardware and software. These systems are used globally across sectors such as automotive, aerospace, electronics, medical, and materials research.
With this acquisition, LK Metrology can now offer a wider array of inspection and measurement products from a single source. This expanded offering includes traditional CMMs, portable measuring arms, and laser scanners, alongside high-resolution X-ray equipment and CT analysis. Both companies are committed to collaborating closely to further develop existing CT systems and to deliver new, flexible, and integrated metrology solutions with high precision to customers worldwide.
Angelo Muscarella, CEO of LK Metrology, stated, “With the acquisition of ProCon X-Ray, we are strengthening our position as a leading, full-service provider in metrology. Industrial CT imaging perfectly complements our existing CMM and scanning technologies.”
Nikolas Westphal, Managing Director of ProCon X-Ray GmbH, added, “We are pleased to become part of the international LK Group and, through its outstanding global presence, to make our market-leading products accessible to a significantly wider customer base.”
ProCon X-Ray’s expertise in developing high-precision, modular CT and X-ray inspection systems for industry, research, and academia dates back to 2003. Their solutions integrate powerful X-ray technology with flexible software, widely applied for non-destructive material testing, component analysis, and quality assurance.
